About the role
Our client is a well-established precision manufacturing company founded in 1973, specializing in high-quality powder metal components. Operating from their modern facility in Lewisville, Texas, this ISO 9001:2015 certified company serves diverse industries including oil and gas, medical, agriculture, renewable energy, and power tools. They offer comprehensive in-house capabilities including compaction, sintering, impregnation, sizing, heat-treating, and machining, utilizing advanced CAD and FMEA technologies to deliver cost-effective manufacturing solutions to their clients nationwide.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate powder metal compaction presses, stamping presses, and specialty presses according to production specifications
- Install, align, and adjust dies, punches, and other tooling components for optimal performance
- Configure press parameters including tonnage, fill depth, and speed to meet dimensional and quality standards
- Perform first-piece inspections and quality checks throughout production runs
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Operate overhead cranes safely when installing or removing heavy tooling
- Maintain accurate setup records, changeover logs, and downtime documentation
- Provide technical guidance and support to press operators
- Perform routine maintenance tasks and support installation projects
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following all safety protocols
Required Experience/Skills
- Previous experience in powder metal, metal stamping, hydraulic/mechanical press setup, or injection molding environments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and technical drawings
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures including lockout/tagout and crane safety
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in standing positions for extended periods
Nice-to-Haves
- Personal interest in precision manufacturing and powder metallurgy processes
- Experience with ISO quality management systems
- Familiarity with CAD software and technical documentation
- Experience in a similar manufacturing or industrial environment
Pay & Benefits Summary
- Competitive hourly rate: $24-$30 per hour based on experience
- 3-month contract with strong potential for permanent placement
- Initial training on 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 30-minute lunch), transitioning to 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) upon completion of training
