Position Description

This role forms part of JERA's growing North American Gas Trading business, which is expected to transition onto JERAGM’s trading platform. This business is wholly owned by JERA Co., Inc. and will focus on US natural gas trading, optimisation and market development across North America. Successful candidates will join during the build-out phase ahead of the business's planned operational launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation, issuance, reconciliation, and settlement of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable invoices for physical and financial trading activities.
  • Proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Partner with front office and treasury to resolve overdue AP/AR items.
  • Support Group Finance Controller/Financial Controller on ad-hoc duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve the overall JERAGM’s goals and objectives.

Qualifications & Person Specification

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CA or its equivalents)
  • At least 4 years of Settlements working experience preferably in the Gas industry
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, strong self-initiative
  • Strong logical thinking and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Collaborative team player and thrives on excellence and continuous improvement
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under time pressure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience with EKA, SAP/SUN systems are preferable
