About Seton College

This initiative aims to provide these students with the necessary foundation to either pursue a bachelor's degree or enter the workforce.
Job Description
Seton College at the University of Mount Saint Vincent invites applications for an Adjunct Professor in the following areas:
- Communication
Responsibilities
- Teach 3 credits in subject area of expertise using teaching practices that have been shown to be effective for first-generation students
- Maintain an engaging and welcoming classroom setting that promotes high standards and inclusivity
- Actively contribute to a professional learning community by participating in professional development that promotes pedagogical learning and growth
- Be present and available to students on campus during office hours
Requirements
- Master's degree in the subject area required; doctorate preferred
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and use of active-learning pedagogy
- Commitment to engaging students beyond the classroom experience
- Willingness to continuously improve teaching practices and collaborate within a learning community
- Strong commitment to serving a diverse student population, including underserved, minority, and first-generation college students
- A student-centered philosophy aligned with the mission of the University of Mount Saint Vincent to educate the whole person
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Proactive and creative approach to problem-solving
- Experience working with HEOP students is highly encouraged
