About Seton College

This initiative aims to provide these students with the necessary foundation to either pursue a bachelor's degree or enter the workforce.

Job Description

Seton College at the University of Mount Saint Vincent invites applications for an Adjunct Professor in the following areas:

  • Communication

Responsibilities

  • Teach 3 credits in subject area of expertise using teaching practices that have been shown to be effective for first-generation students
  • Maintain an engaging and welcoming classroom setting that promotes high standards and inclusivity
  • Actively contribute to a professional learning community by participating in professional development that promotes pedagogical learning and growth
  • Be present and available to students on campus during office hours

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the subject area required; doctorate preferred
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and use of active-learning pedagogy
  • Commitment to engaging students beyond the classroom experience
  • Willingness to continuously improve teaching practices and collaborate within a learning community
  • Strong commitment to serving a diverse student population, including underserved, minority, and first-generation college students
  • A student-centered philosophy aligned with the mission of the University of Mount Saint Vincent to educate the whole person
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proactive and creative approach to problem-solving
  • Experience working with HEOP students is highly encouraged

Benefits

Allotted salary - $1000 per credit
