Associate Professor of Communication

About the role

The successful candidate will teach across the curriculum, with a special focus on graduate communication studies courses, and will coordinate the PhD program in partnership with the department chair and dean.

Responsibilities

• Teach across the curriculum, with a special focus on graduate communication studies courses.
• Coordinate the PhD program in partnership with the department chair and dean.
• Maintain an active research program engaged with current conversations in the discipline.
• Bring an established record of peer-reviewed scholarship and evidence of successful direction of doctoral and master’s students.
• Supervise dissertation/theses and direct the PhD program.

Requirements

• Hold a PhD in communication or a related field by the start date.
• Active research program engaged with current conversations in the discipline.
• Experience supervising doctoral and master’s students.

Qualifications

• Strong record of peer-reviewed scholarship.
• Ability to teach graduate- and undergraduate-level courses.
• Facility with online instructional technology and success teaching in both online and residential formats.
• Willingness to embrace the School and University Identity and Mission statements and subscribe to a statement of Christian faith.

Skills

• Effective communication skills.

• Strong research and publication record.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $89,000 annually, posted in good faith based on the budgeted amount available for the position.

Schedule

Appointment will begin July 1, 2027.
