Set-Up Team Supervisor

About the role

This Set‑up Team Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for ensuring repeatable accuracy during tool changes. The supervisor will oversee sign‑offs on every changeover, promote knowledge exchange among technicians, and bring forward ideas to improve machine reliability and production gaps. The role leads a team of approximately 13 set‑up technicians across three shifts, including weekend duty, at the Georgia‑Pacific Food Service Solutions Group facility in Janesville, WI.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and build the capability of set‑up team members through coaching, mentoring, guidance, and performance feedback.
• Foster a safe work environment and ensure set‑up technicians practice “best safe work practices.”
• Install Form and Trim tooling for thermoforming processes and production needs.
• Ensure machines are set up to produce quality parts and inspect forming stations to confirm proper tolerances.
• Complete inspections of forming machine functions to verify safe and proper operation.
• Exhibit proficient troubleshooting skills for all thermoforming process issues.
• Ensure all parts meet correct material distribution and visual specifications.
• Properly record and document machine set‑up information for future reference.
• Lead a team of set‑up technicians across three shifts (approximately 13 employees), including weekend duty.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience working in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience and/or training as a set‑up operator.
• Experience working in thermoforming and/or extrusion operations.
