Set-Up Operator - Level 2

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support production objectives by: Performing set-up related duties
• Troubleshoot production problems relating to equipment, tooling, and processes
• Support of company philosophies, systems, and policies through actions and words.
• Perform all the duties of a JLG level 4 or higher operator for a specific department.
• Setup equipment to standard work.
• Train and educate operators.
• Afford ideas and look for improvement of processes.
• Advanced troubleshooting of production problems relating to equipment, tooling, and processes
• Be the subject matter expert in regards to the technical and mechanical portion of machining.
• Drive to obtain and reduce setup target objectives.
• Facilitate Shift Start up and departmental meetings.
• Afford ideas and look for improvement of processes.
• Drive changes to reduce cost and improve department metrics.
• Perform, train and assist in preventative maintenance on equipment and tooling as needed.
• Identify and repair many machine malfunctions without guidance.
• Accurately complete records in maintenance management system.
• Identify and correct machining problems relative to tools and tool holders, collets and chucks.
• Ability to identify and rectify mechanical equipment malfunctions.
• Self-motivated
• Demonstrate proficient machining, communication, and troubleshooting.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Advanced technical training or equivalent

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift Kegs and Boxes on a regular basis between 25 - 35 pounds and occasionally between 35 - 50 pounds. Considerable standing, stooping and bending is required. May be required to pass pre-employment and annual Vision Acuity tests.
