Set-Up Operator - Fabrication
JOB SUMMARY
This opportunity is for our Electric Heat business. Electric Heat is a trusted leader in electric heating and ventilation solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up Mechanical, Hydraulic and CNC controlled press brakes.
- Performing operation to process.
- Determine parts to be run and set up.
- Retrieve, load, and unload specified materials and parts.
- Produce parts to drawing tolerances and adjust as needed.
- Ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
- Advise supervisor and QC of any quality issues.
- Able to interpret drawings and measure parts to drawings.
- Use safety devices as prescribed by the manufacturer or MEP.
- Perform specified preventive maintenance of equipment and tooling and assist in repairs as required.
- Responsible for ensuring the safe work habits of any associate that you assign to a job you or another set-up person has set up.
- Fill out all required paperwork and train others on the same.
- Responsible for detailing the quality inspection required by any associate you assign to a job that you or another set-up person has set up.
- Maintain 5S responsibilities of assigned work areas
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Requires ability to use English, grammar.
- Math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions.
- Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments.
- Ability to understand and perform administrative duties of job.
- Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized standard methods and procedures
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One to two years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
SHIFT
Typical schedule is Monday to Thursday. Friday is for OT (depending on operational need)
