Job Description
We are seeking a Set-up Technician to support the manufacturing group by ensuring thermoforming mold set-ups are completed on schedule and in a timely manner. Responsibilities include installation and removal of molds, minor and major repairs, following company policies and safety procedures, and performing other tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to learn all tool room functions, welding, machining, and thermoforming setups.
- Operate all tool room equipment and follow verbal instructions, sketches, or blueprints.
- Recommend component upgrades to increase productivity or reduce overtime.
- Inspect equipment for obvious issues and adjust as necessary.
- Fill out related paperwork accurately.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning equipment.
- Work closely with tool room mechanics to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Understand the differences between various materials in the plant.
- Able to operate forklifts, hand-jacks, hydraulic cranes, and other powered equipment.
- Willing to work at any location within the plant and overtime as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Outstanding work record.
- High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years related experience.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and mechanical skills.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform basic math operations.
- Effective teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Most routine tasks performed while standing or walking.
- Frequent reaching, handling, fingering, and feeling.
- Frequent turning of body from 0 to 180 degrees.
- Good eyesight for constant inspection of product.
- Distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and corrected vision are required.
- Frequent walking over 500 feet.
- Frequent climbing stairs.
- Occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or talking.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Pushing and pulling occasionally.
- Controls include hands/arms (both) and feet/legs (both).
