Set-Up Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a Set-up Technician to support the manufacturing group by completing thermoforming mold set-ups on schedule and in a timely manner. Key responsibilities include installation and removal of molds, minor and major repairs, and general housekeeping.

• Must be able to learn all tool room functions, welding, machining, and thermoforming setups.
• Operate all tool room equipment and follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs, maintain work area and equipment, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Inspect equipment for obvious problems and adjust as needed.
• Fill out related paperwork accurately.
• Work closely with tool room mechanics to ensure adequate supplies are on-hand.
• Understand material differences in the plant.
• Operate forklifts, hand-jacks, hydraulic cranes, and other powered equipment.
• Work overtime as needed and perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Outstanding work record.
• High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years related experience.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and mechanical skills.
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic math skills.
• Teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, and sitting frequently.
• Reaching, handling, fingering, and feeling constantly.
• Turning body from 0 to 180 degrees frequently.
• Good eyesight essential for constant inspection of product.
• Distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and corrective vision acceptable.
• Frequent walking over 500 feet.
• Frequent climbing stairs.
• Occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or talking.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Pushing and pulling occasionally.
• Controls required include hands/arms (both) and feet/legs (both).
