Set Up Attendant - Jacob K. Javits Convention Center

Job Summary

The position involves performing all show setup activities such as cleaning and assembling stands, displays, and mobile equipment. The attendant must coordinate with supervisors, monitor set up locations, communicate effectively between departments, maintain cleanliness, and ensure client and guest satisfaction.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Ability to perform all show set up activities including but not limited to cleaning and assembling stands, displays, and mobile equipment. Retrieve and store equipment in designated areas when not in use.
• Clock in and out, and clock in others as needed.
• Coordinate with supervisor on all set up activities and performance.
• Maintain client and guest satisfaction through exceptional customer service.
• Monitor locations’ requested set up to ensure accuracy; investigate and correct set up discrepancies or damages immediately and report back to Supervisor.
• Stage tables, chairs, and shelving as directed.
• Communicate clearly between departments to ensure all needs are met.
• Inform management immediately of any shorts or damaged equipment.
• Keep all areas clean and organized at all times.

Qualifications

• Walks and stands throughout entire shift.
• Lifts and transports items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Pushes and pulls carts, racks, and product weighing up to 250 lbs.
• Reads, speaks, and writes English.
