Course Number and Title: MHB155H1: Elementary Modern Hebrew I
Course Description: Introduction to the fundamentals of Hebrew grammar and syntax. Emphasis on the development of oral and writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop a detailed syllabus and curriculum for the course
- Presenting weekly lectures and classes as appropriate
- Evaluate student performance
- Grading papers and exams
- Holding office hours and meeting with students as they request
- Handling other pedagogical and administrative tasks ordinarily associated with an undergraduate course
Qualifications
- PhD in Religion or a related field
- (Near-)native competence in spoken and written Hebrew
- Ability to address the themes of the course to which the application is being made
- Demonstrated expertise in cultural studies and experience teaching university-level courses is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching this course or a closely related university-level course is preferred
- Extensive knowledge of the subject area is highly desirable
