Course Number and Title: MHB155H1: Elementary Modern Hebrew I
Course Description: Introduction to the fundamentals of Hebrew grammar and syntax. Emphasis on the development of oral and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed syllabus and curriculum for the course
• Presenting weekly lectures and classes as appropriate
• Evaluate student performance
• Grading papers and exams
• Holding office hours and meeting with students as they request
• Handling other pedagogical and administrative tasks ordinarily associated with an undergraduate course

Qualifications

• PhD in Religion or a related field
• (Near-)native competence in spoken and written Hebrew
• Ability to address the themes of the course to which the application is being made
• Demonstrated expertise in cultural studies and experience teaching university-level courses is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching this course or a closely related university-level course is preferred
• Extensive knowledge of the subject area is highly desirable
