ServiceNow CMDB Administrator
Individual ensures data remains consistent across the database and is clearly defined for users’ concurrent access, in a form that suits their needs, while ensuring provision for data security, disaster recovery, and business continuity. Incumbent interfaces with vendor representatives to resolve issues with the assigned database and assists with database planning, development, and troubleshooting. Supports ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) functions such as Configuration Item (CI) class organization, discovery, service mapping, service graph connections (Dynatrace, Tenable, etc.), and data reconciliation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field. In lieu of degree, five (5) years’ relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum three (3) years’ direct experience in Database Administration, Database Operations, Computer Operations, or Systems Programming.
- Minimum one (1) year experience with Database Management Software (DBMS).
- Knowledge of at least one (1) programming language, as well as appropriate OS, utilities, shell scripts, visual editor, or related tools for the assigned database.
- Experience/Certifications in ServiceNow platform ITOM Discovery, Service Mapping, and System Administrator preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assists Lead Database Administrator in maintaining the assigned DBMS-based application system and associated security procedures, provides status reports to the Database Administration Supervisor for all active and scheduled projects, and assists with configuration management and database control programming.
- Assists other team members in providing 24-hour “on-call” support to Applications Development areas regarding databases, program design and implementation, and performance.
- Monitors production databases for space utilization and the need for design change or reorganization; defines and allocates space for all test databases.
- Monitors standards and procedures to ensure recoverability and availability of production databases; participates in disaster recovery testing efforts.
- Participates in reviews to evaluate database performance and recommends solutions to ensure the effectiveness of scheme, tables, procedures, and permissions.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Provides consultation and support to Applications Development areas regarding database and program design and implementation.

Segregation of duties will be used to ensure that errors or irregularities are prevented or detected on a timely basis by employees in the normal course of business. This position must adhere to the segregation of duties guidelines in the Administrative Manual.

General Office Worker, Sedentary, Campus Travel – Someone who normally works in an office setting or remotely and routinely travels for work within walking distance of the primary work assignment.
