About the role
A qualified Service Writer/Advisor is needed to work one-on-one with customers and technicians in our busy repair and restoration shops. This role involves scheduling, project management, and ensuring smooth communication between all parties.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers upon arrival and gather all required information to provide honest guidance.
- Schedule service appointments and consult with mechanics about necessary repairs and cost-effective alternatives.
- Provide customers with detailed information about aftermarket and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part options.
- Answer customer questions about service outcomes, consulting with mechanics as needed.
- Advise customers on warranty protections and potential cost savings.
- Manage and oversee the service center’s workflow and scheduling.
- Call customers to inform them of service changes or vehicle readiness for pickup.
- Translate customer concerns and issues into standard repair terminology.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Extensive knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the automotive and/or semi industry and parts.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with mechanics, customers, and senior management.
- Familiarity with RO Writer/TMT preferred but not required.
