Service Writer

About the role

This position is based full-time in Tukwila, WA. Our Service Writer position is responsible for managing the administrative areas of our team and is an important role within our Washington operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage many work orders in all parts
• Create work orders using data given by customer or supervisor
• Approve technician's service notes, attach reports and inspection results
• Approve and reject timecards
• Follow a contract and quote by dollar amount and verbiage
• Handle computer-made invoicing
• Email all supporting documents to the customer
• Occasionally schedule technicians

Requirements

• Very simple mechanical knowledge or understanding of the industry is desired (knowing that an engine takes oil, etc.)
• Must be able to demonstrate a disciplined ability to work with limited supervision
• The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, have attention to detail, works well under pressure in a busy environment that requires multitasking daily

Qualifications & Experience Needed

• Essential Computer Skills: Repetitive typing tasks, copy+paste, Folders: Saving, Filing, Renaming, opening & closing documents, Edit a PDF, Create a Word doc, Excel Sheet, & use Outlook, work off of 2 monitors, ability to learn new programs and CAT specific software

Skills

Creating and keeping customer relationships using positive and professional communication is necessary.
