Service Writer

About the role

ASCO Equipment is seeking a Service Writer in Euless, Texas. This role involves direct engagement with customers, service technicians, and other departments to coordinate and schedule preventative and other maintenance needs, facilitating service needs between customers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Positively take ownership of the customer experience
• Manage work orders: open, close, post time, enter notes, and monitor progress
• Prepare accurate estimates for costs of repairs and present to customers
• Monitor and manage accounts receivables
• Clearly and effectively communicate with customers, technicians, and the service manager
• Provide status updates on work orders, troubleshooting, technician progress, and general questions
• Monitor phones for field technician and customer calls
• Perform various other administrative duties

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a heavy equipment service technician or service writer (automotive industry experience may translate)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and teamwork skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with G-Suite and other service programs
• Personal dedication to work safety and accountability
