Service Writer / Advisor

About the Role

Ditch Witch West, the premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is seeking a Service Writer to join their team in Newark, CA. In this role, you will ensure all service department work orders are opened, maintained, proofed, and closed efficiently while providing an excellent customer experience. You’ll enter and review service and warranty work orders, assist in shop workflow, check-in equipment for repair, pull parts for technicians, and support customers. This position thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where adaptability, customer service, and a winning attitude are key.

Responsibilities

• Open, maintain, proof, and close service department work orders efficiently.
• Enter and review service and warranty work orders.
• Assist in shop workflow and equipment check-in for repairs.
• Pull parts for technicians and provide customer support.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Requirements

• Familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to learn new computer programs.
• Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
• Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Pay

$27.72 - $39.44 per hour, depending on experience.
