Service Technicians - Johnson City

Essential Duties

• Analyze, troubleshoot and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment.
• Perform diagnosis and plan effective and efficient repairs of machinery.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Follow production schedules and requirements for completion of assignments.
• Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
• Maintain vehicles, tools and equipment in good condition and working order.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Follow safety precautions while operating vehicles, machinery and equipment.
• Provide professional and courteous service and present a positive and professional image of the company.
• Perform other service tasks as directed by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.

Qualifications

• Three to five years’ experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.
• John Deere Tech graduate, John Deere Technician experience or Certificate of completion from a mechanical or industrial arts training, vocational school, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in the use of diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
• Computer skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Set of tools to perform equipment repairs and maintenance.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record is required.

Physical Requirements

• Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, regularly lifting 75 lbs without assistance, grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling, working around moving machinery, driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, and seeing.
• May be exposed to extreme weather conditions from extreme heat to winter blizzard conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time position with 45+ hours/week. Base hourly wage ranges between $20-$40+ depending on experience. Plus eligible for overtime and commission.
