Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
- Routine inspections and maintenance.
- Road test vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that guests are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Continuously expand your knowledge for new technologies and practices.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- GM technical training will be provided.
- Maintain GM Certification is a must!
- Monday through Friday, some weekends depending on vehicle backlog.
- Attend training classes as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
- Required self-owned scanner tool.
- Familiar with all makes and models, European vehicle experience preferred.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred.
- Previous automotive technician experience required.
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.
- A positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve.
- Enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
- Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively.
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Knowledge of automobile components, systems, and customer service.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- To solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
