Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
  • Routine inspections and maintenance.
  • Road test vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that guests are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge for new technologies and practices.
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
  • GM technical training will be provided.
  • Maintain GM Certification is a must!
  • Monday through Friday, some weekends depending on vehicle backlog.
  • Attend training classes as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
  • Required self-owned scanner tool.
  • Familiar with all makes and models, European vehicle experience preferred.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred.
  • Previous automotive technician experience required.
  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.
  • A positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment.
  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively.
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of automobile components, systems, and customer service.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • To solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
