About the role
This role focuses on the proper operation of safety showers, eyewash station inspections, gas detection calibrations, and fall protection inspections. The Service Technician also handles miscellaneous tasks for different departments.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly inspections & maintenance on fire extinguishers
- Fire hose testing
- Functional testing of Scott, MSA, and Honeywell (Survivair) SCBA's
- Inspections on emergency shower & eyewash stations
- Maintain demo and rental equipment
- Enter service orders into the order entry system and prepare equipment for shipment
- Use computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and coordinate paperwork
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customer personnel air monitoring equipment
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair customer fixed gas detection equipment
- Handle other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Two to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize work effectively
- Problem solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Results-orientated and highly productive
- Able to follow good documentation practices and adapt to changing schedules
- Relative proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel

Other
- Previous manufacturer certification is preferred, but on-the-job training and vendor training will be provided
- The position requires the use of company vehicles
- An acceptable driving record is required

- Travel up to 75% of the time
- Job duties require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and crawl into tight or awkward places
