Service Technician - Remote
This is a remote position based in Newburg, NY or the immediate surrounding area. The RTI Depot is located in East Rutherford, NJ.
Schedule
- 4/10s: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate for hours over 40 per week
- Night and weekend shifts available with additional shift differential
- Schedule may vary based on customer demand and installation needs, including night installations
Pay
- Base pay: $31.50 per hour
- Shift differential: Additional $2.00 per hour for eligible night and weekend shifts
- Quarterly safety bonus: Up to $1,000 per quarter ($4,000 annual potential)

About the Role
The Service Technician plays a critical role in the success of Restaurant Technologies by installing and servicing advanced equipment in food service industry locations. Responsibilities include:
- Installing core products for new customers and assisting with customer training
- Troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance for existing customers
- Ensuring product performance meets customer expectations through effective communication
- Training and coaching customers on system use as needed
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain products in a safe, timely, and accurate manner
- Meet and control operational goals and timelines, including service labor per hour, first-time right, and 5S standards
- Comply with internal processes, procedures, and all local and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, HACCP)
- Maintain proper parts, supply levels, and paperwork standards in company service vehicles
- Efficiently and professionally service customer needs using iPhone apps for parts, customer notes, and clocking in/out
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate a DOT-regulated vehicle; candidates must pass a DOT-mandated pre-employment drug test (including THC, regardless of state legality)
- Ability to work within a team environment and problem-solve customer issues
- Basic mechanical and/or electrical skills
- Strong customer focus and ability to handle challenging customer situations positively
- Must meet Restaurant Technologies’ fleet safety requirements and maintain a clean driving record
- Physical ability to carry 50 pounds by hand and perform unrestricted bending, stooping, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, turning, and reaching
- Ability to climb up and down a ladder as high as 20 feet
