About the role
We’re hiring a Service Technician at Melody on Main in Mesa, AZ. In this role, you will help keep our communities running smoothly by handling maintenance repairs and contributing to the upkeep of the community, while providing the five-star service that makes Mark-Taylor communities feel like home.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
- Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
- Perform daily pool care, ensure pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
- Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
- Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard or inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
- Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service and service team members; be readily available to go to the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
- Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
Requirements
- Experience as an apartment turn technician, make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
- Excellent customer service skills with professional and timely communication with residents and team members.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, safety practices, and identifying potential issues before they become larger concerns.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work orders, make-readies, and on-call responsibilities.
- Team-oriented and accountable, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Knowledge of building systems and service orientation.
- Basic computer skills.
- A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

Pay
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hour. All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
