About the Role
Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than 123 years ago. Buffalo Rock manages a leading beverage portfolio, including several beloved global and regional brands. The Service Technician is a key member of the Franchise Support Team responsible for driving to customers, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing all assigned customer-owned, company-owned, vending, and food service equipment.
Responsibilities
- Regular and timely attendance; work all hours necessary to ensure operations function, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Receive, implement, and complete service calls from Buffalo Rock customers.
- Perform repairs, activate, and deactivate machines.
- Drive a company vehicle to complete job orders.
- Document job order completion, supplies used/needed, and maintain administrative records through BRC Technology.
- Maintain correct parts inventory on truck to service customer's equipment.
- Transport and return all used parts/components to the ME department to capture warranties/remanufacturing.
- Operate a handheld device to record daily activities.
- Assess safety within job situations and request assistance if needed.
- Maintain compliance with EPA regulations when dealing with refrigeration.
- Communicate effectively with Sales Department, Management, and Buffalo Rock’s customers.
- Work an on-call rotation schedule as determined by management.
- Transmit handheld data to server and park service vehicle in a secure/safe place while on and off duty.
- Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings as directed.
- Adhere to customer policies for vendors or suppliers, including business conduct, ethics, legal, delivery, and merchandising policies.
- Load/unload product during installation and repair of equipment as required.
- Report to work as scheduled in a clean work uniform.
- Keep vehicle clean, well-maintained, and in an orderly condition.
- Use all provided safety equipment and operate all equipment/vehicles safely.
- Exhibit high ethical and moral conduct while representing Buffalo Rock.
- Complete assigned training curriculum, including online and facilitated training.
- Take reasonable precautions to protect the Company, employee-partners, customers, and property.

Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED).
- Valid state driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Proficiency with personal handheld computers, handheld printers, and tools.
Qualifications by Level
Tech Level I
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Tech Level II
- Must meet qualifications for Tech Level I.
- Graduate of a two-year trade school in Refrigeration, Small Appliance, Auto Mechanics, Electronics, or related courses or two years of on-the-job training in a related industry (e.g., refrigeration, plumbing, electrical components).
- Pass both written and hands-on tests for Tech Level II at 80% or higher.
Tech Level III
- Must meet qualifications for Tech Level II.
- Refrigeration handling certification.
- Pass both written and hands-on tests for Tech Level III at 80% or higher.
