Service Technician - Poplarville, MS Purpose Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman. Responsibilities Performs complex diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment and established Ag Management Solutions (AMS) productsParticipates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgePerforms diagnosis and repair in the field as requiredMentors Service Technician Trainees and Service TechniciansConducts or supports customer clinicsMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties Experience, Education, Skills And Knowledge 5+ years of experience performing service repairsAbility to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on the machines of the Technician’s specialtyExpert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipmentExcellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesAbility to use Service Advisor and basic computer functionsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly Ability to work in very hot or cold climates or other unfavorable weather conditionsAbility to stand, lift, squat, bend repeatedly throughout the dayMaster Service Technician certification preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferredValid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Drivers License) and fork lift license preferred
