Service Technician (Journeyman) - Building Systems & Services (BSS)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex HVAC and control systems
• Apply extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems
• Able to test service and maintain these systems
• Provide field recommendations for retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing equipment
• Assists sales by providing technical recommendations for sales leads
• Interfaces with Service manager, project manager or subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities
• Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings
• May assist with job layouts and bid proposals
• Performs Startup and trains the customer in HVAC Equipment and control systems operations
• In addition to mechanical system startup, assists in configuring controllers and completing manufacturer and all BSS job specific documentation and submitting to the office
• Knowledge and use of manufacturer/vendor websites and catalogs in order to find technical documentation, and replacement parts stock numbers as well as advise customers on substitution or modification of replacement parts

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Requires Journeyman Certificate from Apprenticeship Program
• Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in servicing HVAC systems
• Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner
• Professional neat appearance and presentation
• Participates in On-Call Rotation as necessary
• Ability to operate fork truck
• HVAC Journeyman Certificate
• NATE certification
• EPA Refrigeration License
• Valid driver's license
