Service Technician - Intermediate

About the role
The Residential Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert responsible for alleviating customer concerns regarding security systems. You will advise customers and the customer care center on system status, conduct inspections, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test systems for proper operation. Responsibilities include reading blueprints and electrical plans, coordinating with police or fire departments, and preparing trouble order forms for temporary repairs.
Responsibilities
- Service fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.
- Follow and complete required processes for wired/wireless technology and connection procedures.
- Test and validate system signals/communication with central monitoring to establish service.
- Act as a customer service champion, helping customers fix and understand their home protection systems.
- Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
- Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
- Read blueprints, building, and electrical plans to complete equipment repairs.
- Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
- Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other agencies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience installing and inspecting/repairing ADT or comparable product lines.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to read building electrical and sprinkler plans.
- Physical ability to stand, stoop, lift, climb, and crawl as required.
