About the Role

As a Service Technician in Training, you will conduct maintenance, repair, and servicing of electronic, hydraulic, and/or mechanical petroleum equipment and products while providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities

  • 50%: Service and repair electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical petroleum equipment in the field. Troubleshoot and ensure proper operations. Install, program, and test newly installed equipment. Requires daily driving between customer locations and project sites.
  • 20%: Communicate with the service dispatch team on work order status. Open and close work orders, provide repair narratives (written and verbal) for customers, and submit accurate paperwork for time worked and repairs completed.
  • 15%: Collaborate with other service technicians on equipment servicing, repairs, and installations. Training will be overseen by the Service Manager.
  • 10%: Monitor and maintain accuracy of parts inventory in the service vehicle, including transfers to jobs or other technicians and returns to warehouse facilities.
  • 5%: Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, hazardous chemicals/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently (climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping).
  • Ability to drive for extended periods daily, with possible overnight stays.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of experience in mechanical systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, construction, or related repair work.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class E in MO) with a good driving record.
  • Current manufacturer and safety certifications required prior to hire; Hazwoper and Wayne certifications preferred.

Skills

  • Electrical knowledge and strong mechanical abilities.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment and machines as described.
  • Ability to work under intermittent supervision and demonstrate efficacy in the field.
  • Ability to teach and coach junior technicians on troubleshooting techniques.
