About the role
Birge & Held is dedicated to transforming lives through multifamily housing. We currently support two communities, Hibernia and Wyndham Ridge, in Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Inspect buildings and common areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and property condition.
- Complete basic repairs and maintenance of HVAC units, electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, and structural facilities within 48 hours.
- Ensure unit turnovers are completed within five working days.
- Provide daily progress updates and coordinate tasks with the operations team.
- Maintain a professional demeanor with residents, prospects, team members, and vendors.
- Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and debris cleanup.
- Perform administrative duties including submitting work order logs and inspection forms.
- Participate in the maintenance on-call rotation to handle after-hours emergencies.
Requirements
- Formal technical training or equivalent job experience in heating and air conditioning, preferred.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling, preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- HVAC certification, preferred.
- Able to operate all necessary tools to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Experience in residential property maintenance is beneficial.
- Able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Schedule
This position is typically full-time with some evening and weekend work required.
