Service Technician (Heavy Equipment)

About the Role

RDO Equipment Co. in Portland is seeking a qualified Service Technician to join our Vermeer division. This role focuses on providing exceptional service to customers working with the latest tools and cutting-edge technology in the industry. You’ll become part of an industry-leading team serving arborists, landscaping companies, contractors, forestry companies, municipalities, and other customers who value a knowledgeable Vermeer partner.

Pay

$30 – $60 per hour, with competitive wages and a profit-sharing program to match your skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment accurately and promptly
• Use troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Deliver top-notch service to customers with clear, respectful, and timely communication
• Prioritize safety by following guidelines and procedures at all times
• Stay up-to-date with evolving technology through company and manufacturer-sponsored training
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized shop environment

Requirements

• Experience in diesel mechanics preferred (mechanical background or schooling in diesel mechanics)
• Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Keen attention to detail
• Valid work authorization in the U.S. without company sponsorship
