About the Role
Reporting directly to the Service Manager, this full-time Truck Technician position supports the service team with maintenance and repairs of large trucks. You’ll work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Fairbanks featuring spacious bays, great lighting, and up-to-date technology. The equipment shop is located right next door, and a coffee shop is nearby for quick breaks.

Responsibilities
- Inspect and pre-deliver new equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and estimate repair of used equipment.
- Maintain rental fleet for repair and cleanliness.
- Occasionally travel to customer's location to repair equipment.
- Use computers to look up parts, research service practices, prepare estimates, and generate service reports.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on transmission and differential, U-joint/drivetrain, brakes and axles, air systems, electrical systems, chassis, and suspension.
- Document detailed repair stories.
- Perform DOT inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience working with large trucks and/or heavy equipment or formal mechanical training.
- Troubleshooting skills in engine and vehicle systems.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Great communication and time management skills.
- Able to work 40+ hours per week.
- Able to operate tools associated with equipment repair.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Bend, lift, and push as required.
