About the role
A Service Technician Diesel I is responsible for performing basic maintenance and service on diesel engines and related components. This role may involve diagnosing issues, conducting inspections, servicing equipment, and completing necessary repairs. Service Technicians Diesel I typically work in a variety of settings, such as construction sites or shops.
Responsibilities
- Basic understanding of service intervals.
- Locate fluid types, capacities, and special instructions in manufacturer's digital service manual.
- Service, grease, lube all mobile equipment.
- Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors.
- Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.
- Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant.
- Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment.
- Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
- Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Requirements
- Ability to work overtime and extended hours including weekend depending on customer and company demands.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
- Must have knowledge of industrial tools, their uses and maintenance.
- Subject matter expert and ability to apply knowledge and experience in situations.
- Must have Valid driver's license.

- Technical Expertise - Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction and report them to the maintenance team.
