About the role
A HVAC Service Technician is responsible for setting up, repairing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for an organization or its customers. The position offers opportunities for continuous training and experience within the industry.
Qualifications/Duties/Responsibilities
- Servicing and repairing all types of HVAC equipment
- Reading blueprints to diagnose, troubleshoot, analyze, and locate malfunctions on HVAC units
- Replacing defective or worn parts and making necessary adjustments
- Installing HVAC equipment when needed
- Maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and providing excellent service
- Maintaining quarterly performance goals
- Participating in an on-call rotation
Skills & Experience
- Minimum (2) years of service experience in the HVAC industry
- CFC/EPA Certificate required
- NATE Certified is preferred but not required
Working Conditions
- Driving a company vehicle
- Entering customers' homes and/or places of business
- Working in hot attics or cold places
- Accessing HVAC equipment on roofs
- Pulling, lifting, and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds
Physical Demands
- Sit, climb, balance, stoop, pull, lift, and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally enter restrictive spaces such as attics or crawl spaces
- Adjust focus to see details, understand small print, and assess a computer screen
- Have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Qualifications
- Minimum (2) years of service experience in the HVAC industry
- CFC/EPA Certificate required
- NATE Certified is preferred but not required
- Good driving record, with no more than 2 points on your license
- Good communication skills used for both the customer and co-workers
- Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
- Willing to cross-train others
- Flexible with work hours, willing to participate in an on-call rotation
