Duties and Responsibilities
- Shared driving duties between office and job locations.
- Basic knowledge of welding using standard safety procedures and proper welding techniques.
- Frame welds fully welded, all welds checked for strength, removal of all sharp edges or wires.
- Steam cleaning using standard procedures of safety and proper steam cleaning techniques.
- Cart repair knowledge.
- Material Handling Equipment knowledge.
- Use of power tools in a safe and proper manner.
- Use of hand tools in a safe and proper manner.
- General housekeeping of truck and daily work area.
- Loading and unloading of parts and waste from truck on daily basis.
Job Specifications
- Working knowledge of hand tools, grinders, drills, impact gun, alignment tools, and other tools required to perform various jobs.
- Working knowledge of welding shopping carts and other material handling equipment.
- Certification is beneficial but is not a qualification for this specification.
- Light truck driving experience required, valid California Drivers license, acceptable driving record, and safe driving practices.
- Cart model and replacement part knowledge, with the ability to identify, remove and install such parts.
- Material Handling and equipment repair knowledge with ability to identify, remove and install such parts.
- Basic knowledge of Electric Cart repair and basic part replacement knowledge.
- Proficiency in welding is required.
- Basic knowledge of steam cleaning, lubrication, wheel replacement, painting, alignment, salvaging, rebuilding, and other repair work.
- Communication skills in reading and conversing in English is mandatory.
- Communication in Spanish is beneficial, but not mandatory.
- Attendance is imperative because of customer preparation and co-worker dependability.
- Excessive tardiness is not acceptable, it affects customer service and co-workers.
Physical Demands
- Lifting of packages, equipment up to 70 pounds 3 to 10 times a day.
- Lifting of small items or tools up to 10 pounds 10 to 50 times a day.
- Pushing of rolling equipment, carts and rolling stock carts 5-15 shopping carts at one time (maximum cart weight 65 pounds) up to 50 times a day.
- Tilting or stacking of carts nested (3 carts maximum per stack) total weight 195 pounds or less up to 50 times a day.
- Walking generally done on level concrete or asphalt surface, frequent intermittent intervals up to 2 hours a day.
- Bending up to 2 hours a day.
- Frequent twisting, screwing, grasping of tools, parts, and equipment with hands up to 3 hours a day.
- Writing skills up to 1/2 hour a day.
- Frequent swinging, pulling, pushing of arms and shoulders while using various tools and other equipment up to 3 hours a day.
- Frequent welding (Mig and Arc) up to 5 hours a day.
- Frequent light truck (diesel with clutch) driving up to 3 hours a day.
- Frequent touch-up painting, using aerosol spray cans, frequent use up to 3 hours a day.
- Sitting frequently as a passenger up to 3 hours a day.
- Frequent workdays of 8 to 10 hours, occasional workdays of 10 to 14 hours.
- Work days are typically Monday through Friday, however workloads, weather, and specific job considerations may dictate work being performed on either Saturday or Sunday.
