SERVICE TECHNICIAN

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician specializing in the maintenance and repair of tractors and production agriculture equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing and servicing diesel-powered farm machinery, including combines, planters, and John Deere equipment. This role requires expertise in agriculture equipment repair and diesel engine maintenance, with the ability to work independently as a Service Technician.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostics on agriculture equipment, outdoor power equipment, or commercial worksite equipment and determines necessary repairs.
• Performs repairs on agricultural equipment, outdoor power equipment, and commercial worksite products as requested by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
• Participates in all job-related training and development.
• Prepares reports and forms required for work orders.
• Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and other products sold or serviced by TriGreen.
• Maintains safe and proper operation of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
• Completes any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment, agricultural equipment, or commercial worksite equipment.
• Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree from an Ag Tech program preferred.
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with John Deere and other products sold and serviced by TriGreen.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems related to agriculture equipment and outdoor power equipment.
• Analytical, business planning, problem-solving, communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds, including tasks that require lifting, bending, squatting, standing for prolonged periods, and sitting.
