Service Technician
About the role
Tennant Company is a global leader in cleaning equipment with over $1B in annual revenue. Our mission is to develop and manufacture innovative and sustainable solutions to improve the health and safety of our customers. The Service team, consisting of over 500 technicians in the US and Canada, plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing Tennant products.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic system, and combustion engine issues on customer-owned Tennant products and similar competitor models.
- Plan and execute daily service activities, including contacting customers to schedule services and communicate service expectations, timelines, billing, and future service needs.
- Create and maintain records of all service activities and business reporting documentation.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of Tennant Company property, including the company vehicle, tools, parts, inventory, and equipment.
- Collaborate with internal partners such as sales, customer service, technical assistance, field service support, and other technicians to support your success.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license meeting Tennant Company driving policy requirements.
- 0-2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Experience using hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices (multimeter, voltmeter, etc.).
- Proficiency in using a personal computer, MS Office Suite, and email.
- Vocational schooling in automotive/diesel/electrical preferred.
- Previous experience and knowledge working on Electro-Mechanical Equipment systems and components (Automotive, forklifts, appliances, golf carts, hospital equipment, etc.).
- Experience working in a field service position.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting up to 90 pounds.
- Driving a van to and from customer sites daily, including frequent driving time of 3+ hours daily.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds, with most items weighing between 2 and 20 pounds.
- Frequent sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting daily.
- Must be able to drive a van to and from customer sites daily, including frequent driving time of 3+ hours daily.

Pay
$42,600 - $64,100 annually.
Schedule
Monday – Friday.
