We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team, installing, maintaining, and repairing surface preparation equipment at customer sites across the region and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and troubleshoot surface preparation equipment at customer locations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment usage and care.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Order new parts for repairs as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel for creating and running reports.
  • When not traveling, work onsite at the Byron Center, MI shop, focusing on equipment repairs, maintenance, and rebuilds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial equipment service.
  • Strong electrical skills including reading and understanding electrical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50–75% of the time.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job which includes bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and customer needs.
