About the role
Independently perform complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment at Sinclair Tractor, a leading provider of agricultural equipment, precision farming, agronomic decision support, and NAPA parts and supplies across Southeast Iowa.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology
- Mentor Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians
- Conduct or support customer clinics
- Perform diagnostics and repairs in the field as required
- Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders
- Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs on work orders and timely submission of information
- May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for skills and knowledge development
- Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment required for job responsibilities
- Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- Associate’s degree in John Deere Ag Tech or related 2-year degree and/or 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipment
- Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work varying shifts, extended hours, and holidays
- Basic knowledge of equipment safety procedures
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time in a workshop setting
- Repetitive bending and/or kneeling required
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds
- Travel as needed
