Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
  • Test drive vehicles and test components/systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional service needs.
  • Provide estimates for additional repair time.
  • Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician.
  • Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Fast, eager learner and team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Computer skills and willingness to learn new problems.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

The role involves MEDIUM to HEAVY physical intensity, including:

  • Constant: Reaching, sitting, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing.
  • Frequent: Repetitive motion.
  • Occasional: Balancing, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Visual acuity requirements: color, depth perception, and field of vision necessary to drive vehicles safely.

Physical Working Conditions

This position is subject to:

  • Inside and outside environmental conditions, including temperature changes and weather.
  • Slightly elevated ambient noise levels.
  • Minor potential physical hazards (electrical, mechanical, and cleaning equipment).
  • Minor atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, and dust associated with auto dealership operations).
