About the role
The Service Technician installs, maintains, and repairs a wide range of equipment found in service stations and convenience stores, including fuel dispensers, submersible fuel pumps, service station site controllers, credit card readers, cash register consoles, pumping PCWs, tank and line monitoring equipment, and other related systems.
Responsibilities
- Work safely and comply with fire safety, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations.
- Observe, analyze, and determine actions for service and repair of equipment.
- Perform necessary repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment in a professional and productive manner.
- Execute factory-authorized modifications per specifications.
- Maintain tools required for performing the job effectively and safely.
- Follow customer safety and housekeeping guidelines when performing repairs at customer sites.
- Resolve warranty calls on dispensers and tank monitors.
- Perform service calls, including after-hours as needed.
- Conduct break-fix and preventative maintenance on service station electronics, computers, and fuel dispensing systems (electronic, plumbing, and mechanical work).
- Provide quality customer service that exceeds expectations by completing assigned duties in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform prerequisite work to obtain and maintain certification from original equipment manufacturers.
- Work with service project crews on service projects, assist lead technicians with start-up and commissioning of equipment, and travel as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver License.
- Familiarity with computer operations and an aptitude for learning computer skills.
- Gilbarco Dispenser certification and Veeder Root Tank Monitor certification preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and standing for 8-10 hours per day.
- Must pass a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR (if driving for the company).
Pay
$20.60–$33.25 per hour, dependent on experience.
