About the Role

We are seeking a Manual Machinist to support our aftermarket repair and upgrade business in our Cullman PRO Services shop located in Cullman, AL. PRO Services provides services focused on reducing equipment total cost of ownership and increasing plant output, including condition monitoring, predictive maintenance contracts, field service, engineered upgrades, inventory management, and overhauls for pumps and other rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, vertical turret lathes, horizontal boring mills, tool post grinders, and drill presses.
• Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
• Install machined replacement parts in equipment and test operation of unit to ensure functionality.
• Develop specifications from general descriptions and draw sketches of parts or products to be fabricated.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, such as manual lathes, milling machines, vertical turret lathes, and horizontal boring mills to machine precision components per specifications.
• Apply appropriate machining processes to manufacture parts specified by work orders, blueprints, sketches, or charts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• 10+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret pump drawings.
• Proficient in setting up and operating manual lathes, milling machines, vertical turret lathes, and horizontal boring mills.

Pay

Between $27.79 and $41.54 per hour, plus benefits.
