About the Role

The Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment in a commercial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify electrical problems in systems, equipment, or components using testing instruments and techniques.
  • Perform repairs, replacements, and adjustments to electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment while ensuring safety compliance.
  • Respond to service calls and work orders, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
  • Adhere to electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with electrical system installations, including wiring, panels, switches, and other components, ensuring compliance with specifications and codes.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance for clients with maintenance contracts, identifying potential issues and recommending improvements.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service, explaining electrical issues, repair options, and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities, generating reports and updating logs as required.
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades, energy-efficient solutions, or equipment replacements to enhance performance and safety.
  • Stay updated with advancements in electrical technology, industry trends, and regulations through continued learning and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

  • Valid Electrician’s License (depending on location/project).
  • At least 3–5 years of lighting and electrical experience.
  • Valid and current driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screen.
  • Extended hours and weekend work may be required based on job and site needs.
  • Regular attendance is essential.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Constantly moving on your feet for 8+ hours per day.
  • Climb ladders (all types) and perform overhead work for full-day assignments.
  • Transition from employee parking to construction work areas, including accessing all building levels via OSHA-approved ladders or stairs under construction.
  • Good vision (normal or corrected) and ability to positively identify wire colors.
  • Comprehend and read prints, schematics, maps, instructional manuals, specifications, and written instructions.
  • Bend conduit by hand using hand benders and operate power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
  • Dig trenches using hand tools or power equipment.
  • Operate mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas-powered).
  • Practice and comprehend safe work procedures as outlined in company safety policies.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience and paid weekly.
