Service Technician

About the role

The Service Technician is a critical member of our onsite community team, performing maintenance and service work that ensures our properties meet our standards of operational excellence and uphold our company values. Our Service Technicians take pride in knowing that they provide excellent service to our residents and ensure their comfort and safety needs are upheld at the highest standard.

Responsibilities

• Handle resident service requests via online ticketing system on a timely basis while providing fantastic customer service.
• Perform or assist in all phases of apartment and property maintenance including make-readies, walking vacant units, groundskeeping, punch-out work, trash-out, maintaining the swimming pool and golf carts, and interior and exterior repairs.
• Auxiliary in the upkeep of the exterior and interior of the property.
• Auxiliary in the Service Manager with health and safety issues by identifying and reporting potential hazards, liability and safety concerns, and unresolved maintenance issues.
• Auxiliary in the efforts to prevent, mitigate and repair damage from severe weather events.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, ADA, OSHA and other regulations affecting the maintenance of the property.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED along with a valid driver’s license.
• A minimum of 2 years of general maintenance experience in multi-unit property management.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection and energy management systems.
• Work as scheduled, including weekend and on-call shifts as needed.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime if needed.

Qualifications

• EPA certification Type I or II as well as other certifications/licenses as required by local, state or other regulations.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Yardi, and other relevant applications.

Physical Activities and Work Environment

• Requires frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 75 pounds.
• Requires frequent bending and/or stooping, and use of ladders or stepladders, to perform essential maintenance tasks.
• Requires frequently working outside in various weather conditions.
