About the role
Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) makes the technology that powers everyday transactions—from self-checkout kiosks and casino slot machines to vending machines and parking meters. We enable over 4 billion transactions weekly across 143 currencies worldwide. As a Field Service Technician I, you’ll service, repair, upgrade, and maintain electromechanical equipment, including coin and currency devices, ATMs, and specialized office products, at client sites in the Tampa/Lakewood/Sarasota area.
Responsibilities
- Service, upgrade, and perform preventative maintenance on company electromechanical equipment.
- Travel daily to client sites (90% local, 10% overnight as needed), including long drives depending on territory.
- Coordinate with branch employees to meet client needs and address service requests within contract response times.
- Cover extended hours and ‘On-Call’ duty where applicable.
- Maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory and ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the company-issued vehicle.
- Safeguard company assets, including tablet computers and mobile phones.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in a technical or field service position or similar role.
- Impeccable integrity and ability to gain access to highly secured environments (occupational licenses may be required).
- Strong electromechanical aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first attitude.
- Personable, approachable, and able to work collaboratively at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and proof your own work.
- Proficiency in iOS, MS Office applications, and Windows OS.
- Ability to work independently, set and track goals, and meet project deadlines proactively.
Physical Requirements
- Available for periodic travel to the corporate office in Mt. Prospect, IL, for training.
- Able to lift, push, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds (e.g., large money-counting machines and parts).
- Kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting up to 60% of the time to service equipment.
- Hand and wrist dexterity for tasks like turning screwdrivers and placing parts.
- Phone or desk work (10% of the time) for computer tasks, bench repairs, parts stocking, and scheduling.
- Ability to stand for long periods (up to 75% of the time) while servicing equipment.
