Responsibilities
- Have the technical expertise to service, perform maintenance and repair on:
- Direct expansion AC equipment
- Most gas fired and electric heating systems
- Low voltage temperature control systems generally associated with HVAC equipment
- Air handling equipment and duct systems associated with commercial HVAC equipment
- Perform basic maintenance and repair to HVAC Systems including:
- Changing air filters
- Cleaning condenser/evaporator coils, fans and ductwork
- Inspect and adjust fan shafts and belts
- Install wiring to connect components
- Start systems, observe operations, read gauges and instruments, and adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, safeties and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure and temperature in system
- Troubleshoot, replace or adjust defective worn parts to repair systems
- Interact via cell phone with CSUSA National Accounts Group and third-party service providers/control companies to check in and out of client’s store sites and acquire NTE adjustments from CSUSA Account Managers, when necessary
- Contact Service Office to acquire purchase orders for any materials required to complete a service call
- Inform dispatch of job statuses, checking in and out at the beginning and end of day, and getting the next day’s service call information
- Accurately record your time per service call
- Be available for on-call time as needed on evenings, weekends and holidays
- Maintain company vehicles and tools
- Responsible for always following all safety policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School or Trade School Graduate or GED
- 2-year associate degree in HVAC is preferred, but not required
- Holds a Universal Refrigerant Card
- Holds appropriate state trade licenses and remains current with continuing education required for performing service work in multiple states
- Driving record meets company requirements
- Successful passing of pre-employment drug screening required
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards when visiting the jobsite
- Employees may be exposed to outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust
- May be expected to carry up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally
- Stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions
- Climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue
