About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain garage doors and openers, ensuring safe, high-quality work and exceptional customer service. Southeastern Garage Doors (Banko) is committed to providing top-tier training, industry-leading tools, and long-term career growth.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial garage doors and openers.
- Complete installations and service jobs using hand and power tools safely.
- Drive to customer locations, assess service needs, and recommend solutions.
- Test door systems, openers, safety sensors, and electronic components for proper function.
- Document completed work, materials used, and maintain accurate inventory.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment and company vehicle.
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide solution-based recommendations.
- Review work orders for accuracy before leaving job sites.
- Work closely with management and report any job-site issues promptly.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in garage doors, construction, electrical, HVAC, or a related trade.
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving record.
- Ability to lift 75+lbs, work on your feet, from a ladder, and perform tasks in outdoor conditions.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Comfortable with face-to-face customer interaction and upselling when appropriate.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
- Reliable, safety-driven, and committed to high-quality workmanship.
- Comfortable working in a piece-rate environment once trained.
