About the role

As a Garage Door Technician at Precision Garage Door Service, you’ll receive training so that you can be up and running quickly with your own company vehicle and stream of customers. We will train and provide you with all the necessary tools to grow your career as far as you want to take it. You will be front and center helping our customers by repairing, replacing, and installing garage doors. You’ll put the customers at ease, making sure they fully understand the service options available that’ll get the job done correctly.

Responsibilities

• Repair and install garage door parts and equipment on-site at customer locations.
• Diagnose and repair garage doors, door operators, and replace worn or broken parts.
• Install new equipment, including doors and springs.
• Educate customers on repair options and preventive measures.
• Review completed work with customers to ensure they understand the service performed.
• Sell services, repairs, and new equipment using a proven good/better/best model.
• Collect payment from customers.
• Manage inventory in your company-provided vehicle.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in heat, cold, and non-temperature-controlled environments.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow company processes.
• Reliability in serving customers.
• Basic computer/tablet skills.
• Comfortable using hand tools and operating mechanical equipment.

Experience in the garage door industry is preferred but not required – we will train you.

Pay

During your 90-day training period, you will receive a base pay of $XX.XX per hour. After training, you will earn commissions on the work you complete. Most technicians make between $60,000 and $100,000 per year.
