Service Technician Apprentice

About the role

If you like working with your hands, learning on the job, and talking to customers face-to-face, this apprentice role could be for you. You'll train alongside experienced techs who will teach you how to install tanks safely, troubleshoot equipment, and handle service calls with confidence. When you finish the program, you'll be ready to move into a full Service Technician role, and we'll help you get the licenses and endorsements you need at no cost to you.

Local Routes: Our drivers are the face of our company, providing great service while working local routes—so you’ll be home every night.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, assist in installations, repairs, and maintenance of propane equipment for retail customers.
• Develop knowledge and train on how to load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload propane to and from specified destinations.
• Assist in inspecting vehicles and notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, or routine maintenance.
• Under direct supervision, assist in preparing and maintaining records in accordance with regulations and company procedures.
• Operate truck in accordance with established safety procedures.
• During daily interaction with customers, provide exceptional customer service by supplying service/safety information and answering inquiries.
• Train with team members who are working on call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency deliveries or response as needed.
• Once qualified, may be required to drive a Bobtail truck based on business needs and/or “On Call” rotation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Under direct supervision, may work on propane appliances when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with hazmat and tanker endorsement if not currently obtained.
• Good driving record.
• Proficient in speaking, writing, and understanding the English language.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with hazmat and tanker endorsement preferred.
• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
• Applicants must not now, or any time in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
• Employees will be required to sign and abide by our reimbursement agreement.
