Service Technician - Accommodations

About the role

Performs physical tasks in the shop, warehouse, or on a wellsite. Expected to have a working understanding of operations to effectively communicate with clients, perform shipping/receiving duties, rig up/down equipment, and redress equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs shipping and receiving duties: loads and unloads trucks; uses computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting; follows shipping practices, procedures, and transportation requirements.
• Installs and disassembles company and/or competitor equipment in accordance with original manufacturer’s standards.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment, including testing and diagnostics.
• Monitors, evaluates, and adjusts processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency, following applicable safety guidelines and industry standards.
• Maintains communication with customers and site leaders; advises on repair/replacement options; acts as a liaison between sales, operations, and customers on product and installation issues.
• Inspects, rebuilds, operates, tests, and troubleshoots equipment.
• Paints equipment and completes records and associated documentation.
• Operates equipment and materials following OEM guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• May operate heavy machinery if properly certified.
• Performs general residential housing maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting.
• Identifies and operates residential emergency shut-off systems (water, gas, electrical).
• Performs preventative maintenance and routine inspections of smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and other residential safety equipment.
• Troubleshoots residential internet/Wi-Fi connectivity and equipment.

Requirements

• Valid Class D license and acceptable driving history.
• Ability to communicate and interpret oral and written instructions.
• 0-2 years of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant experience as a service technician in the oil and gas industry.
• Current relevant HSE certifications.

• Operation of heavy equipment or vehicles: Occasionally.
• Lifting/pushing objects weighing over 50 lbs: Occasionally.
• Climbing and working in awkward and cramped positions: Frequently.
• Lifts/carries up to 82 lbs occasionally.
• Pushing maximum force: 72 ft./lbs.
• Pulling maximum force: 72 ft./lbs.
• Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces.
• Exposure to inclement weather, bright lights, loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes.
