About the Role

Assist shop technicians in the repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines.

Responsibilities

• Does shop cleanup
• Works well with co-workers
• Must work safely and cooperate with others
• Assists in the repair of shop and/or field work
• Completes service reports, time cards, and other paperwork in a legible, understandable manner
• Assists the Class A, B, and Journeyman Mechanic where required and observes closely to gain additional knowledge
• Takes advantage of service schools and training programs offered by the company
• Promotes good welfare among the company and its divisions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: GED, High School Diploma, or trade school; special service training preferred
• Technical background or related experience in engine maintenance and repair preferred
• Working knowledge of the position and how it relates to overall business objectives
• Ability to meet goals and objectives set by the company
• Must conform to company policies and procedures
• Current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard (if driving company vehicle)
• Ability to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by the Department of Transportation (if required)
• Computer literate, with a Windows-based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
• Dependable and able to work independently
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Able to bend and twist several times a day
• Ability to work flexible hours and days
• Maintains good client relations
• Maintains a professional appearance
• Promotes and maintains a clean, neat, and safe work environment
• Ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
• Owns a basic set of hand tools
• Basic engine knowledge
• Protects company assets and interests

Schedule

Typical hours of work: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekend hours as necessary. Outside work as required.
