Description
Scope of Work: Assist shop technicians in the repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Does shop cleanup
- Works well with his co-workers
- Must work safely
- Must be able to cooperate
- Affords assistance in the repair of shop and/or field work
- Must do service reports, time cards, and other paperwork in a legible, understandable manner
- Affords assistance to the Class A, B and Journeyman Mechanic where required and observes closely to gain additional knowledge
- Takes advantage of any and all service schools and training programs that are offered by the company
- Promotes good welfare among the company and its’ divisions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Must have GED, High School Diploma, trade school or special service training preferred. Technical background or related experience in engine maintenance and repair preferred.
Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s): Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives.
- Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company.
- Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company.
- Must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle. (ONLY IF JOB REQUIRES)
- Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement as outlined by the Department of Transportation. (ONLY IF JOB REQUIRES)
- Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook).
- Must be dependable and able to work independently.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds. (ONLY IF JOB REQUIRES)
- Must be able to bend and twist several times a day.
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days.
- Must maintain good client relations.
- Must maintain a professional appearance.
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment.
- Must have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment.
- Must have basic set of hand tools.
- Must have basic engine knowledge.
- Must protect the company assets and interests.
Working Conditions
- Typical hours of work: Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Weekend hours as necessary.
- Outside work as required.
