Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst I is responsible for addressing service retirement inquiries, completing service retirement estimate requests, and calculating retirement benefits to ensure CalPERS retirees receive a timely and accurate benefit payment.
- Researching, analyzing, and completing a full range of benefit related assignments
- Resolving outstanding eligibility requirements
- Working with stakeholders to obtain required information needed to process service retirement calculations
- Pricing with other CalPERS program areas to verify the accuracy of membership enrollment and compensation reporting
Qualifications
The Analyst I is responsible for:
- Proficient in the use of personal computer and ten-key calculator
- Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workloads within short time frames
- Desire and ability to produce accurate work product
- Knowledge of mathematical concepts to calculate retirement benefits
- Ability to appropriately apply current laws, rules, policies, and procedures
